The world famous Buckhorn Saloon and Museum has delighted hundreds of thousands of visitors for over 120 years. At the Buckhorn, we believe in “edutainment”. We don't like the idea that museums have to be stuffy, quiet places. The Buckhorn Museum and The Texas Ranger Museum welcomes groups and tours of all types and sizes. Our goal is to make your visit easy, entertaining and hassle-free. We can arrange your special event, your party, your educational tour, your dinner event, whatever you want. With special event capacity for over 1,800 and its unique “Texas Experience”, the Buckhorn Saloon and Museum is one of the top rated sites for private receptions, corporate parties, convention events and the like. Private Events at the Buckhorn are always memorable. We have hosted debutante balls, charity galas, wedding rehearsal dinners and receptions, corporate parties, auctions, trade events, birthday parties, bar mitzvahs, casino parties, etc. School groups will have fun while exploring the 40,000 sq. ft. of wildlife exhibits. Learn interesting facts about some of our 520 different species of animals from all over the world. Don’t just take a field trip, have an adventure! Visit the Texas History Wax Museum. Learn about notable Texas pioneers and events that shaped Texas’ history from 1534 through the early 20th century. The pioneers and events are showcased in historical sequence, revealing the succession of rule, and the trials and tribulations of their struggles. The Buckhorn Saloon has always been known as a gathering place for good conversation and cold beer. Today, the saloon includes a Café. If you have time, be sure to visit our award winning museum, old-fashioned arcade, and curio store known as “The Worlds Oddest Store”. It has a history almost as old as the Buckhorn itself. Albert Friedrich started the curio store in 1920 in response to Prohibition, which outlawed the sale of beer or liquor in the United States. He needed a way to support his family, and, since the Buckhorn had already become somewhat of an attraction, he decided that a curio store would suit the bill. The Curio Store has always been as full of the unique, odd, and downright weird as the Buckhorn Museum itself. The original store motto, “Honest Goods and Honest Dealin's”, is still the backbone of our success today. Of course, you'll find t-shirts, mugs, the film and batteries you forgot, and many delightful items that could only come from Texas. The only limit is your imagination!
