A child's self-worth will be enhanced through discovery and participation while respecting others through interactive, cooperative play.
Our Exhibits.
- All World's Cafe. A true social experience children will take turns being a cook, waitperson, customer while preparing and cooking meals for anyone.
- By The Sea. Sit on the dock to catch some fish or crawl down to see and hear an environment filled with dolphins. Go aboard and sign on as a crew member and use the radiophone to call for some assistance.
- Construction Zone. This exhibit provides building materials for visitors to experience construction on a large scale. Children will plan, design and strategize different modes of assembly.
- Dance with Me. The theater gallery is a harmonious space shared with the Pan American Roundtable that can accommodate both children and adults. This exhibit area is equipped with chromo key video technology that allows children to dance along with a taped instructor. Children will select from a wardrobe of beautiful costumes before heading for center stage. A star is born.
- Infant Toddler Area. The Infant/Toddler area will highlight Brownsville's motto: “On the border, by the sea”. Fish, seashells, sea birds, boats and sea creatures define this special area. The Infant/Toddler area is separate from the hubbub of the rest of the museum, which provides a safe and nurturing area for our younger guests and their caregivers.
- Tac Tiles Panels. A muti-sensorial experience, which begins your interactive museum journey. Feel your way along as you touch this mosaic of unusual textured panels.
- Texas Farmhouse. The farm allows children to discover animals, fruits and vegetables.
- The Plaza. “The heart of the museum”, a place to meet and get to know one another.
- Weather Changing Station. The changing states of water will serve as several stations and ceate real weather conditions. Listen, see and touch a real tornado while spinning on a bike to re-create a windmill.

Birthday Party Packages are available from the Children's Museum of Brownsville. We offer the exciting party themes: Dinosaur Stomp, Fairtytale Tea Party, Pirate Treasures and Luau.
We reserve the right to ask children to “sit out” for part of their visit if they are not following the rules. Groups who do not adhere to the rules will be asked to leave early without a refund. Chaperones must stay with their assigned children and are responsible for their safety and discipline.
