I am Shawna Wolf, Director of Hamilton Academy - it`s been a privilege for me to work with children here at Hamilton since 1981. This is a job that no one can do alone, and I am blessed to have a dedicated staff, including Tami Lurye, Assistant Director. When added together our current staff has spent 170 years caring for children at this school. A stable staff is essential for children to feel secure. |

Please remember that you are always welcome at Hamilton Academy. Come and visit, observe, participate in a craft or activity, or join your child for lunch. We encourage you to be involved in this part of your child`s life as often as possible because you are your child`s first and most important teacher. As one of the oldest licensed centers in Texas, our staff includes teachers that have served children for 5, 10, 20 or more years. In addition to the strict requirements of the State of Texas, our staff is required to provide the following: A learning curriculum planned each month in advance. A genuine respect for the individual worth of each child. Acceptance of each child as they are. Love and nurture for each child individually. Constant maintenance of a safe environment. Positive redirection for discipline. A minimum of 20 hours of appropriate training each year. If you decide to trust us with the care of your child, please take time to get to know your child`s teacher so that you both can work together to make your child`s day a happy and growing experience. We encourage you to come and spend time with your child at Hamilton Academy. We realize your daytime hours are limited, but suggest you look for opportunities to: Accompany the class on a field trip. Participate in or observe playground time or swimming. Participate in craft making. Observe in classroom. Join the class for lunch or snack. Set up a conference with your teacher. Stay for a while when bringing or picking up your child. Read our bulletin boards and newsletters. Conferences are scheduled as needed through the year. Please do not feel that these are the only times when you should visit with your child`s teacher. We want to exchange thoughts and information on your child whenever necessary. We welcome mothers and fathers on field trips, during class time when you may wish to share your talents with us, or helping us with various projects to benefit the children`s classrooms.
