True education must be an experience which frees and enables a child to grow into the unique person he is. A youngster must learn to think, to feel, to create, to find himself. Therefore, our concern at Mrs. Wagners School is not merely with instruction, but with the total life of the child. |

Mrs. Wagners School
Preschool A staff person will be at the McDermed circle drive door at 8:40 a.m. (school starts at 8:45 a.m.) and between 11:45 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to assist the children getting in and out of the cars. Any child arriving later than 8:45 a.m. should be brought to the office. This will keep classes that are in progress from being disturbed. Daily activities are planned so that children benefit most by being prompt and regular in their attendance. Our morning circle begins at 9:00 a.m. and provides an introduction to the day. Arriving at school late is upsetting to your child and disruptive to the teacher and the other children. We realize that emergencies arise and try to be flexible in these matters. If you find that you are going to be late, please call and notify the school. This enables us to help your child remain calm and understand that you will be along shortly. No child will be released to anyone other than the parent or guardian ore someone designated in writing by the parents. Grades One - Three Classes begin at 8:45 a.m. Tardies will be recorded at 9:00 a.m. for the report card. The number of tardy minutes will be taken off recess unless it is an excused tardy (i.e., car trouble, illness). Children are to be dropped off and picked up at the circle drive on Cliffwood. At dismissal time, a staff person will assist the children into the cars. Parent Participation: The success of our program and the optimal development of each child is dependent upon a shared commitment between staff and parents. This joint commitment makes the educational experience at Mrs. Wagner's School one in which home and school cooperate for the best interest of the child. Parent-Teacher Conferences: Your child's teacher will schedule a minimum of two parent conferences during the course of the year. Parents are requested to inform the school of any unusual events the home (new baby, trips, visitors) so that the teachers can better understand the behavior of the child. Parents will be informed of any special problems or occurrences. Dress Code: Mrs. Wagner's School does not require uniforms, However, we feel that appropriate dress is conductive to instilling a proper attitude toward education. Students should be well-groomed and modestly attired. No halter tops, tank tops or bicycle shorts will be allowed. Tennis shoes are required on P.E. days. No sandals or thongs. Report cards: Report cards are sent home at the end of each six week grading period. Progress reports are sent home at the end of the third week grading period.
