Young Achievers was est. in 2003 to strive to maintain quality teaching environments by maintaining a small class size thus ensuring that all children gain access to educational materials and are provided one-on-one teacher instruction. Through active learning we believe that our children can acquire the knowledge necessary to better understand the world around them. We encourage parent involvement and work collaboratively with families to ensure that our children exhibit continuous educational growth and development.
Our Facility
When our facility opened as a registered family home we opened our hearts and home to some wonderful families. Their feedback about our program allowed us to understand how much of an impact our quality care and attention to detail had on the children.

Creating a clean environment conducive for learning not only enables children to achieve but also creates a profound effect on the behavior of children and their caregivers. With this in mind, we have laid out our preschool space into a series of learning centers with carefully selected materials.
Each week the curriculum changes to keep it both educational and engaging. When you visit our facility we will provide a sample of some of the activities that we incorporate into our preschool curriculum.

Each learning center allows for self-exploratory and creative play. We make our materials easily accessible by incorporating low shelving units and labeled storage to allow young children to comfortably engage in activities such as building, painting, reading, dramatic play, water play, sorting, writing, dancing and counting. Sometimes we bring a bit of the outdoors indoors at our science center. Sometimes we may create something magical and unexpected as we try a new cooking recipe.
Preschool Program
The preschool curriculum is structured to encourage early learning and exploration. Activities are educational and age appropriate and will utilize one or more of the following teaching aids - computer interactive learning, hands-on science experiments, storytelling, puppetry, and arts and crafts.
Our full-time children will have an opportunity to participate in 5 planned activities per day in their daily routine. These activities provide learning enrichment and makes up the academic component of the preschool program. These activities include a creative play component, word skills, reading skills, counting skills and fun with math. After-school children are given one-on-one tutoring and at least one planned activity per day.
Program Effectiveness
Our first class of Young Achievers will be missed dearly but though we were sad to see them go we were proud of their accomplishments and pride ourselves in the superior level of care we provided our families.
Most importantly we offer meaningful adult-child interaction which allows children to celebrate their successes, stories, and ideas with caring, interested adults. Our goal is to ensure that children have the opportunities necessary to make playtime worthwhile and a purposeful venture.
