Originally founded as a power fan and louver company in 1955, today Whirlwind has become one of the largest metal building manufacturers in the industry. We currently operate four manufacturing facilities in Our diverse line-up includes metal building systems, metal building components and the recently added solar energy systems division. We provide comprehensive building solutions with services ranging from design calculations to building erection.

Whirlwind's Texas plants are certified by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). The AISC certification ensures that we have the personnel, organization, experience, capability and commitment to produce fabricated structural steel for Category MB, Metal Building Systems, as set forth in the AISC Quality Certification Program. With over half a century's experience in the industry and a product line-up that is second to none, Whirlwind goes beyond the scope of the traditional metal building manufacturing company.

We are headquartered in Houston, Texas off of 45 south near Hobby airport. All corporate responsibilities are housed at the Houston facility.Our purchasing department is responsible for the purchase of all raw material as well as supplemental items used in the construction of metal buildings and roofs.
