Our Author & Instructor was Allen Darnel. He began his dancing career in 1956 at the Tucson, Arizona Arthur Murray Studio. He wants to organize some sort of Association for Dance Instructors in order to provide more stability and security in their lives. He also wants to create a Ballroom Dance Museum with a large ballroom setting. Allen was National Promotional Director for the annual Feather Awards held in Beverly Hills and he owns a Publicity and Business Consulting firm for dance professionals. He also teaches beginners how to dance and I'm going to a few lessons real soon!
When Beginners Only Social Ballroom Latin Dance Studio launched its first studio several years ago, the Houston dance company drew from forty years experience in both business and dancing savvy. Beginners Only Social Ballroom Latin Dance Studio spotlighted a much neglected market in the dance industry and has proven the market's efficacy. BODS in now a successful prototype studio which is a quantum leap from the usual dance studio operation.
BODS unique operation in Houston, Texas, includes a 169 square foot teaching space plus 581 square feet for office, reception room and storage space (a total of 750 square feet) located in a commercial business building.
Our studio is arranged for one-to-one teaching with a private room for you and your instructor only and we promise privacy, discreteness, and full fifty minute lessons with the appropriate music to hear as you learn each dance.
It will be an enjoyable experience! We also give you an audio tape of all dances we teach: Foxtrot, Waltz, Swing, Rumba, Cha Cha, Mambo, Tango, Samba, Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, Bachata and Country Western. All of these dances are danced socially at night clubs, ballrooms, wedding receptions, proms, company parties, country clubs and charity balls.
Our concentrated instructional method, based on over 50 years of dance experience, and three books in print, is specifically designed to teach you the basics of good social dancing in far less time than the regular dance studios. We have cut the sales talk and the fancy frills and fill your time with qualified and proven instruction.
We also give you a list of the best places to go dancing where these rhythms are played. You can schedule one lesson a day, or one lesson a week. Ideally one or two lessons a week will give you a maximum benefit.
