Thank you for considering Alvin Street-Wise Driving School to instruct your teen in driver education, it is our goal to provide your teen with superior, up-to-date driving and classroom instruction based on a TEA State approved curriculum. Our program consists of classroom instruction and/or behind-the-wheel instruction. The State requires that a student receives 32 hours of classroom instruction and maintains a grade 70 or better to pass the class. |

The behind-the-wheel phase of driver education is a structured practice in which the students receive instruction and practical driving experience. The State requires that a student receives 7 hours of practice driving and 7 hours of observation. Since the behind-the-wheel is a structured practice, students do not pass or fail, they simply complete the course. We wish to make it understood that 7 hours of driving is a minimum requirement and your teen may need more practice either with you or with an instructor in order to be a safe, responsible driver. Upon completion of the students driving session, your teen`s instructor will identify areas that your teen needs to improve.
Completion of an approved Defensive Driving Course, also known as Traffic School, is a great way to prevent violations from hitting your driving record as well as reduce your insurance premiums. Attending a defensive driving course can enhance your driving knowledge & skill and increases your awareness and the safety of you, your family and other drivers.
