The Lone Star School of Music is the homegrown product of one local musician who envisioned a music/arts teaching center that would ignite both creativity and community in Austin, the perfect marriage of atmosphere and convenience. We offer not only private music lessons on a Huge variety of instruments. Our popular group classes are perfect for adults, teens, children, parents, beginners, pros, art lovers, music lovers and more! To that end we offer yoga classes, guitar lessons, piano lessons, bass, drums, voice, songwriting, stereo building, home recording and more.
Don't be surprised if you recognize members of our faculty, they're all prominent musicians in the Austin area. These musicians have played with legends, recorded albums, toured the world and even won a Grammy or two. We at the Lone Star believe that music isn't something learned from books alone, but rather, a language passed from one musician to another. Our faculty speaks that language fluently.
While the bulk of her music teaching experience lies in the disciplines of piano and voice, Aileen has also taught oboe and led clinics on mallet percussion.
We offer:
Private Lessons. Nothing beats one on one private instruction with one of our talented faculty. The Lone Star School of Music is brimming with professional musicians who are committed to helping you grow as a musician, develop your individual skills and learn at a pace that suits you! You may play Banjo, Bass (electric and upright), Cello, Clarinet, Drums (all styles), Fiddle, Guitar (all styles), Mandolin, Percussion (Latin and other styles), Piano (all styles), Saxophone, Trumpet, Violin, Voice and anything else we can get our hands on!
Group Lessons. Group lessons are a great introduction to any instrument! Group lessons are broken down into three categories: kids, teens and adults. Teens can take any adult class.
Adults Group Lessons are: Beginner Guitar, Guitar Amp Building, Kundalini Yoga, Electric Bass.
Kids Group Lessons are: Little Hearts Club Band - Rattle n Rollers (Age 0-2), Little Hearts Club Band - Movers and Shakers (Ages 3-5) and Learn Spanish with your Child (Ages 3-5).
We also offer Rock Camp and Girls Rock Camp.
We offer music lessons and master classes, as well as yoga workshops and early childhood music classes. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, a novice or an aficionado, a kid or an adult, You Belong Here!
