First of all, we inspect every item. We take it out of the package, examine it for workmanship, measure size, and estimate weight. We get inspired by the piece. Then we are ready to write a description.
Metals Most of our products are cast from base metals. When they are made of vermeil, sterling silver, or stainless steel, or are hypo-allergenic we will indicate such. We generally use silvertone, goldtone, and coppertone to describe the metals.
Finish Antique or Patina means that an aged or oxidized appearance has been given to the piece.
Necklaces are measured for the length of the necklace not including the clasp, and if there is an extender chain it is noted.
Bracelets are measured to include the closure, and any extender chain is noted. Bangles are measured giving and interior dimension so that you can use a ruler against your own wrist to compare.
Rings sizes are accurate using a jewelers sizing tool.
Crystals and CZs Crystals can be made of many different materials today. We will call out Swarovski only when we are 100% sure of it, otherwise the crystal is Austrian crystal, or simply a glass crystal. Some crystals are made of resin, and these are referred to specifically, or as cabochons or beads.
