The Shelby Inn, Mattie’s Homestead, The Carriage House, The Shelby School House and Henry’s House; all perfect for your stay in this unique Texas town. Each of these charming farmhouses are newly decorated mixing the old and new, and come complete with wonderful high thread count linens. Mattie's Homestead is a large 3 bedroom, two story 1900's farmhouse with a newly renovated open country kitchen. Come and relax and enjoy the Texas country scenery on the covered front porch at Henry's House. Guest staying at The Shelby School House, built in the l880's, will enjoy the open beamed ceiling and loft. The Shelby Carriage House, with its private balcony overlooking the gardens and wedding chapel, makes this a favorite for newlyweds.The Shelby offers for breakfast fresh muffins and bagels, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, milk and cereal. Each of the farmhouses have a television, and DVD players and a selection of DVD's are available upon request.
Policies. A minimum of 2-nights stay is required on a weekend stay. The Shelby is a non-smoking facility. No pets please.
Weddings. Plan your special day with us at The Shelby Wedding Chapel. If you are looking for a unique and charming wedding chapel, look no further. The Shelby Wedding Chapel is a must-see. Guests will enjoy the fragrant scent of cedar when entering the open-beamed cedar log interior, featuring beautiful stained glass windows pictured with lovely doves and periwinkle wisteria vines intertwined each one. There is also an antique chandelier from a 19th Century French chapel and a wood-carved front door from an 18th Century Spanish Mission. The Shelby can accommodate 26 guests on the property, and there are additional accommodations nearby. We would love to discuss with you the details of your special day. We can offer our charming Wedding Chapel to you and you take care of the details, or we can help you in every detail of your wedding from musicians to caterers to tents.
Meetings, Retreats, and Scrapbooking. The Shelby is the perfect place for your next meeting or retreat. Our charming town will also be a unique location for your next scrapbooking weekend, family reunion, workshop, spiritual or corporate retreats.
Cooking Classes. The Shelby is now happy to announce that we will be offering weekend cooking classes by the very talented Kathleen Whatley. As owner of Good Things, a catering company, Kathleen Whatley began her career in the food business with an antique shop that just happened to serve an English Cream Tea every afternoon. She became known for her good food and gracious hospitality. She is now working as private chef to several clients who host B&B guests, retreats, special parties and weddings.
