Originally known as Hotel Glen Rose or Glen Rose Hotel, the Glen Hotel began construction in the mid-1920's and opened its doors for business in 1928. The hotel comfortably combines elegance with the warmth and inviting environment of an historic property.
The Glen Hotel offers a unique experience of days gone by and allows guests to step back in time. Everything from the stone fireplace in the main lobby to the ornamental and wood ceilings or the elegantly furnished guest rooms provides a gentle blend of elegance with the flair of history.
All of our guest rooms are uniquely decorated with period antiques, designer bedding, draperies, etc to make your stay warm and inviting while providing complete comfort. A typical bedroom has wood floors, an antique bed (many of which are original to the hotel), barley twist night table, antique dresser or dressing table, and a chair. Most rooms have ceiling fans or original light fixtures. These amenities surround guest with a combination of history, convenience, charm and elegance. All standard rooms are telephone and television free to make your stay a peaceful escape. We gladly pass on messages any guest may receive during their stay.
All of the bathrooms have been renovated with tile, slate, granite and/or marble. Each bathroom is also uniquely decorated and includes bathing amenities. The suites all have private bathrooms while the standard rooms have a center bathroom between rooms. Guests requiring a single room will never be asked to share a bathroom. Instead, the adjoining room would be taken off the market. However, these adjoining rooms are very convenient for families traveling with children or companions, co-workers, etc traveling together. The standard room rate is discounted when adjoining rooms are reserved.
The hotel features two large lobbies for the enjoyment of the guests. The front lobby is a favorite gathering place for visiting, reading or just relaxing. It features wood flooring, a large stone fireplace accented with petrified wood, an ornate ceiling with curved arches, antler chandelier, leather couch and chairs, antiques rugs and more.
The back lobby offers a comfortable blend of luxury and entertainment in a relaxed atmosphere. This room features: Wireless Internet, Slate floors, Beveled wood ceiling with curved arches , Leather couches, Big screen television, Buffet and antique dining/game tables and more.
It is perfect for small group gatherings, catching a glimpse of a game or news, enjoying a game of dominos, cards, chess, etc. An assortment of hot and cold drinks and occasional snacks are generally available in this room as is a Continental breakfast. A light breakfast is provided in the back lobby.
